Review of Hotel Palm Springs Rendezvous, Palm Springs, USA
UPDATE: out of business in 2022
1950s feel, fine accommodation, great food:
Our family (two adults and a teen) normally is not into bed & breakfast establishments. But when they get better reviews than many luxury hotels in town, we make an exception. This was the case with the Rendezvous, and we were not disappointed. It was a perfect combination of hotel and bed & breakfast.
The property is close to restaurant and shopping facilities, you reach those in a five-minute drive. The building was restored to its 1950s splendor, which is quite a sight. All the rooms have a theme. From which we chose the Crooners Room for the adults and the Hawaiian Surf for our son. While their original feel was retained, modern conveniences were added. The rooms were not exactly luxurious but featured all the necessary comforts for a pleasant stay. It was extremely relaxing to lie in the deckchairs around the pool, enjoying the 1950’s ambiance. This was especially so, when the complimentary martinis and scrumptious appetizers were served.
Very much appreciated was also the delicious three-course gourmet breakfast. It included a freshly prepared smoothie, a fruit dish and a main course, either sweet or savory. Everything was fabulous, and we were indulging in this treat! Jake, one of the hosts, was at our disposal for any requests we might have had. He was friendly and helpful without being intrusive.
Bottom line, it was a very enjoyable stay. And we would return here without hesitation. If we lived close by, we would rent the whole place for festivity purposes. It would be the ideal place, for example, a birthday party!
Date of stay: July 2011
