Review of Mowani Mountain Lodge, Damaraland, Namibia

Absolutely superb location, good restaurant, but a bit dated tents:

On our brilliant Botswana, Namibia and Victoria Falls fly-in safari guided expertly by Ultimate Safaris (sightings included the Big 5, cheetah, wild dog and sitatunga) we (two families with a teen each) also made a stop at this beautifully located lodge amid of rocky hills.

The infrastructure is still good, a lovely pool between the boulders, the most beautiful spot for sundowners on the top of the rock as well as a nice tented restaurant and lodge. Also the food was very good, dinners were great and we also liked the breakfast. The service was generally okay, in the restaurant good.

As far as the activities are concerned we cannot judge the ones offered by the lodge as we had a guide (from Ultimate Safaris) for ourselves (we were – successfully – tracking the desert elephants).

All in all, a nice lodge in a wonderful desert landscape, fine food, but permanent changes for the better should go without saying.
