A trip along the Oregon Coast led my family to a one night’s stay at Overleaf Lodge & Spa. It is about a family-owned hotel in a unique location with unparalleled ocean views.

As the choice of first class hotels in this area is not great, we settled for the Overleaf Lodge. While it definitely is not a luxury resort, it provides a good standard. We opted for a suite as we are a family of three adults, i.e. a Sunset Suite on the ground floor. On the positive side, there is plenty of room (two rooms, two bathrooms, kitchen) and the ocean view is impressive. On the negative side, the suite is dated and blandly furnished. We were not at ease, neither in the room nor in the lobby area.

The public spaces are decorated in a style that can best be described as quaint. Never mind, it is probably a matter of taste. However we did like the expanded continental breakfast. This despite the fact that we had to queue quite long in order to enjoy the quality goods. As far as the staff is concerned, we were treated in a friendly way but we felt a bit out of place. This because we were probably the only foreign travelers among lots of domestic ones.

There is a path along the coast where you can enjoy amazing ocean views. The stunning location is what makes this property so appealing!
